Where and how did the Latin language originate?

The Latin language has been used much from early times till now, but there isn't a country that goes with it like there is for other common languages.

Rome. The Romans conquered many lands and implemented Latin. Then throughout the years, it evolved into Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, Romanian, and Romansch.
Latin is one of the early languages of the Italic branch of the Indo-European family. Latin, along with Oscan and Umbrian, branched off from proto-Italic.
