Is it like studying the English language? I want to study Latin instead of Spanish. For any of you who ever took Florida Virtual School, do you know if Latin I is hard?

Latin is a dead language, in that there are no native speakers anymore.
Latin is a very good way to understand the English (and other romance) Language(s).
If you are interested in etymology and the development of ideas, culture and language, it is very useful.
it can be fairly easy to learn if you already know a couple of languages.
when I was at grammar school, they stopped teaching it (around 1976), as it was deemed ‘not practical enough’
I wouldn’t study Latin unless you are really into languages. It has a lot of complicated grammar for the uninitiated, and since it is a dead language, it won’t be a lot of use to you (unless you are particularly interested in the origins of a lot of English words!)
It was spoken by the Romans and they were a very long time ago…
How about trying French!
The only Latin I know is from going to Catholic Mass in the 1950’s and 60’s. Of course you know that alot of English and Spanish words come from "the latin". You will probably catch on quick.
Learning Latin would be the same as learning how they built computers in the 60’s, or how they designed car tires in the 1920’s.
Why not learn something that is currently usable?
There is a complete online latin course which is free called Latinum
http://latinum.mypodcast.com
It uses a free google books textbook, which you can print as well if you want to.
There is loads of subsidiary material with the course, like a youtube channel, and books on the tar heel reader site – and when your Latin gets good enough, an online community where everyone uses only Latin
