I've heard about William the Conqueror's invasion bringing the then-current French language to Britain, but what about the fact that the Romans occupied Britain? In other words, what percent of the Latin in English came from the occupation of Rome, and what percent came from the Norman conquest?

I was just wondering because I'm taking a Latin course and studying about Roman culture which is in Rome. Which Rome is in Italy. So I was just wondering if the Latin language is similar to the Italian language or if it's the same thing.

Please give me your view on this. Thanks! :)

I have to write a newspaper for Latin II?

What are some important events that happened in or around 31 BC in Rome, also all over the world, I might make this a world newspaper if I can't think of more topics to write about. Also what is a good newspaper title that I can use? Thanks.

Do people still speak Latin in everyday life?

In Vatican City they still speak Latin, but is it only for religious purposes? Do the people who live in Rome speak Latin in there everyday life? I want to know if I learn to speak Latin then will I be able to use it in Rome?
