Ok, so I'm currently doing Biology at university and most names/terms are derived from either latin or greek. I want to learn these two languages, perhaps only to a basic level, so as i can learn the literal meanings of the many terms used.

Rosetta stone computer programs are a great way to learn languages at home. They have both Latin and Greek. My girls just finished Spanish 1 and really enjoyed it.

My son used a program called The Latin Road To English Grammar and liked it. Here is a link to a review;

Looks like you want to learn vocabulary, not the language itself.
There are good vocabulary resources on the Latinum site, including vocabularies arranged by subject matter.

There is also a complete Latin course online on Latinum, including a textbook, available on Google Books.
