However, English is a West Germanic language that originated in Anglo-Saxon England. Meaning that you might find German or Dutch easier to learn than Latin based languages. Definitely take Spanish!!! You'll actually use it as well. Vatican City is virtually the only place where Latin is the official language. If you plan on going into the science or medical field, a lot of the things are classified by Latin words. If you plan on going into a field such as teaching, business, etc--Spanish will be the way to go since it will give you a great edge on those that are not bilingual.
