		<description>It´s hard to find scholars agreeing on the one correct way to prronounce Latin, as we simpy don´t have any &quot;native speakers&quot; left. ;)

However, a single consonant, as opposed to today, tends to be pronounced like a double, so for &quot;uti&quot;, the pronounciation is NOT &quot;ootee&quot;, but &quot;utti&quot; - short U, stress on the short U. 

&quot;possidetis&quot; - stress on the &quot;de&quot; syllable, as it is the last but one and marks the verb form. So &quot;possi&quot; will be like the English syllable in &quot;possessive&quot;.
&quot;de&quot; with a long E (not ee), &quot;-tis&quot; needs a short EE sound and will be like the obsolete English &quot;´tis&quot; as in Shakespearean &quot;´tis night, my friend&quot;.

Therefore: &quot;utti possi-dee-tis&quot;. Hope it works typed out like that... :)</description>
