There is no quick and easy way to learn a language, regardless of whether it is a living language or a classical one. It takes about a thousand hours of instruction and countless thousands of practice and homework to get decent control of a new language (that's what the standard is for the Defense Language Institute, the "Army Language School"), and that assumes a talent for language learning. If you want to play around with Latin, that's fine. It's a good thing to play with. Get yourself a "learn Latin" book from a bookstore and try it out. But if you are serious about learning Latin or any other language, you are wise to sign up for a course and study seriously. It's the only way to true success.
