It's not. It's derived from Germanic languages.
The romance languages (Portuguese, Spanish, Catalan, French, Italian, Romanian, Friulian, etc.) are derived from Latin, but not English.
English has words derived from Latin, but only because English speakers have a great habit of borrowing words from other languages.
Germanic languages are not derived from Latin, they are derived from the same languages as Latin, but they formed into two separate branches. I know Modern English (and really most modern languages) are a hodgepodge of influences. But I've noticed that people think English derived directly from the language of the Romans.

What is the adverb for "Latin" (the classical language) in Russian? I need to use it to say something like:

Я говорю по-______
Ya gavoryu pa-_____
I speak Latin(ly)

Or I read it, write it, etc.

Also what were the population in the Latin language area speak and communicate with ( in which language) before they use the Latin language????

im trying to learn latin, working with software and audio courses. But how could I get more exposure to this "dead" language? any movies with a lot of latin? any things like that?

I always thought it was different languages that correspond to the different animals, I never knew it was just Greek and Latin
